How will the project benefit the Earthquake Workers?
The training of EMDR is transfer of technology to Pakistan. It will involve considerable amount of time and management.
- We have identified the people who are already working in earthquake areas. They will be trained in EMDR as it is an inexpensive and efficient. It is important as currently other psychological therapies are not available in these areas.
- Our own experience is that the concrete therapies like EMDR are more effective in Pakistan then other psychological therapies that involve talking.
- Main goal of the project is to transfer technology to the clinical care of the patient.
